Melissa Spencer was born in Raleigh NC. She enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family and taking in the salt air at any beach! After graduating college she took her dog, packed up her stuff and trucked it down to Charlotte NC for her hubby, Mike Spencer. They love to help others through their non-profit, Doingmypart.com! Melissa is creative and inventive; she loves a good challenge! Her passion to own her own business has driven her to grow The Tipsy Paintbrush to what it is today! Ever since he could grip a paintbrush or pencil, he has been creating art. He would watch his father paint and illustrate as he was growing up and he aspired to be able to live up to the caliber of work he created. He began illustrating and creating comic book characters throughout high school. He finally decided to follow the path into higher education and explore the world of art and teaching. He enrolled at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio and majored in Art Education. He wanted to inspire and show kids the world of art as my father did for me. He also wanted to guide and help kids find and follow their dreams. Kris moved to Charlotte with his now wife to pursue a career in education. He has been working in public education for 7 years now and he has recently completed his masters in Art Education from Winthrop University. He is now living the dream by helping and guiding kids as well as painting alongside anyone who comes to the Tipsy Paintbrush with a pint, a glass and the willingness to find their creativity.
